Ambassador of the Republic of Congo to the Republic of Armenia David Madouka handed over the copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan

On September 18, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received David Madouka, the Ambassador of the Republic of Congo to Armenia (residence in Moscow) on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, the Foreign Minister expressed hope that during Ambassador’s tenure the cooperation between the two countries will become stronger and more intensive on both bilateral and multilateral platforms. Both sides underlined that there is a great potential for development of trade and economic relations, and in order to exploit it fully it is necessary to outline the scope of actions to be taken. Presenting Armenia's development agenda and Armenia’s achievements and experience in the field of high technology and innovation, which is one of the pillars of development, Minister Mnatsakanyan added that creative education is an important factor for the promotion of that agenda.

The sides touched upon the close cooperation established within the framework of international organizations, especially the International Organization of La Francophonie, indicating the steps for its further expansion.

The interlocutors touched upon preparations for the Yerevan Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie to be held in October, as well as the main and side-events to be held during the summit. In this regard Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that the membership of Armenia in the OIF greatly contributed to the development of ties with member states, especially the countries of African continent. The minister underlined that cooperation within the framework of La Francophonie is a means to push forward our common values ​​and goals - diversity, solidarity, humanism, human rights and democracy.

The Armenian Foreign Minister presented to the Ambassador of Congo the position and priorities of the Armenian side towards the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In that context, the sides agreed that the peaceful settlement of the conflict has no alternative.
