Shavarsh Kocharyan's lecture for Helsinki University students

On May 16, Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan delivered a lecture for the students of Helsinki University who are in Armenia on a study visit.

Greeting the attendees, Deputy Minister noted that Armenia is currently going through aa important political phase. Shavarsh Kocharyan presented in details Armenia's foreign policy priorities and main directions, the approaches of Armenia with regards to regional and international challenges, touched upon the bilateral relations and cooperation within multilateral platforms. Deputy Foreign Minister noted that Armenia always pursued an Armeno-centric foreign policy which, due to geographical location and historical realities, was based on the necessity of ensuring the security of the country. Shavarsh Kocharyan also underlined that the balanced approaches have always been and will continue to be the basis of the foreign policy of Armenia, and Armenia's effective cooperation with various integration structures attests to it.

While answering numerous questions of the students, Deputy Minister presented the specific features of the constitutional order of the Republic of Armenia, the joint efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries aimed at peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, touched upon the relations of Armenia with immediate and regional neighbours.
