Foreign Minister of Armenia participated in the session of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers

On April 6, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, who arrived in Minsk on a working visit, participated and delivered remarks at the session of the Council of Foreign Minister of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The session started in a narrow format, then continued in an expanded format with participation of delegations.

The agenda of the session included more than a dozen draft decisions aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of organization's activities, developing cooperation among CIS member states in political, security, cultural and educational spheres, which were approved by the ministers.

Foreign Ministers exchanged views on urgent issues of international agenda, touched upon the issues of holding consultations between the Foreign Ministries of CIS member states.

Ministers approved the draft Agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime in the field of information technologies, as well as the 2019-2023 Intergovernmental programme for joint action against crime.

The participants of the meeting touched upon the "100 ideas for the CIS" programme, aimed at engaging young people in solving the problems faced by the CIS member states.

It was decided to convene the next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in September 2018.

Foreign ministries of the CIS member-states met with the President of Belarus.
