Political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Georgia

On October 17-18, political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Georgia were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in Yerevan. From the Armenian side the consultations were chaired by Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, from the Georgian side by David Dondua, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia.

During the meeting the sides touched upon a wide range of issues of the agenda of bilateral relations, including follow-up discussions on the course of implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries, asl well as on regional security, humanitarian, economic and other matters.

The sides also touched upon the role of Foreign Ministries in the context of further deepening and strengthening the collaboration between the two countries and the steps to be taken in that direction.

Within the framework of consultations, an inventory of bilateral legal framework between Armenia and Georgia was carried out. While acknowledging the existence of a broad legal framework between the two states, the parties confirmed the importance of its further improvement and expansion in certain areas.

The sides agreed to hold next round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries in 2018 in Tbilisi.
