Armenian Foreign Minister received the delegation of the Knesset of Israel

On September 13, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received the Israeli parliamentary delegation headed by Tali Ploskov, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Chair of the Armenia-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Yoel Hasson, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. The meeting was attended by Gagik Minasyan, Head of the Armenia-Israel Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Armenia, and Hayk Kotanjyan, Co-Chair of the “Armenia-Israel” Public Forum.


Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian commended the recent intensification of mutual visits both on the legislative and executive levels, and expressed confidence that the regular contacts contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Israeli parliamentarians noted that the agenda of their three-day visit was quite busy, which provides an opportunity to hold discussions on different level regarding the issues of deepening the cooperation.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of cooperation between Armenia and Israel within the inter-parliamentary format by emphasizing the role of friendship groups operating in the parliaments of the two countries in strengthening the Armenian-Israeli relations.

Edward Nalbandian also noted with satisfaction that the "Armenia-Israel" Public Forum is becoming an important platform for dialogue between the societies of the two countries, and the holding of the third session of the Forum in Yerevan attests to that.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the Armenian-Israeli bilateral agenda, highlighted the expansion of the legal framework, underlined the necessity to promote business ties, and touched upon the possibility of visa liberalization.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on a number of regional issues.
