Armenian-Moldovan consultations held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia

On May 18-19, the Armenian-Moldovan consultations were held in Yerevan at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the two countries. The Armenian and Moldovan delegations were headed by Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, and Lilian Darii, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, respectively.

During the consultations held in traditionally friendly atmosphere a wide range of issues of bilateral agenda was discussed, including the issues related to interstate cooperation, use of potential of the Armenian-Moldovan economic cooperation and enhancement of humanitarian ties. A special attention was paid to the issues of mutual interest of the international and regional agenda.

The consultations focused on the process of implementation of agreements reached between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova during the visit of Andrei Galbur, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, to Yerevan in November 2016.

According to the agenda the heads of delegations were briefed on the results of the meeting held between the Legal Departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, where issues related to the further development of the legal framework of the Armenian-Moldovan cooperation were discussed.

With the view of invigorating bilateral cooperation, the importance of mutual visits, continuous coordination of joint efforts aimed at defining the ways of further development and deepening of trade and economic contacts and intensifying ties in the field of science and education was emphasized.

In the result of constructive discussions the importance of holding regular consultations was highlighted, in line with the programme of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries for 2017-2018, signed in Yerevan in 2016.
