Political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Turkmenistan

On March 14, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and Turkmenistan were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.The Armenian side was headed by Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, the Turkmen side was headed by Vepa Hajiev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.

During the consultations the sides discussed a wide range of issues of the Armenian-Turkmen bilateral agenda, related to carrying out of the high-level visits, development of bilateral economic relations, mutually beneficial cooperation within international organizations, deepening of humanitarian and cultural ties as well as to further broadening and improvement of legal framework. They also exchanged views on urgent regional and international issues.

The sides specifically noted the importance of holding events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan.

Both sides highlighted the importance of the annual political consultations in terms of clarifying each other’s positions and the need to ensure their continuity.
