The Ambassadorial meeting continued its work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia
03 March, 2017On March 3 the meeting of the Central Apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Armenia’s Ambassadors accredited in foreign countries, Permanent representatives to the international organizations and Consul Generals continued its work in Yerevan.
Galust Sahakyan, President of the National Assembly of Armenia, addressed the participants of the Ambassadorial meeting and presented the steps that are being undertaken towards development of interparliamentary cooperation. On the occasion of the Diplomat’s Day, the President of the National Assembly handed over to a number of MFA employees awards of the Parliament in acknowledgement of their close cooperation with the parliamentary delegations in interparliamentary structures, joint initiatives and provided diplomatic support.
Karen Karapetyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, in his remarks outlined initiated by the Government reforms and steps aimed at promoting investments, while underlining the important role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard. The remarks of the Prime Minister were followed by a comprehensive exchange of views on expansion of economic component of foreign policy agenda.
Vigen Sargsyan, Defense Minister, also delivered remarks at the Ambassadorial meeting. The Minister presented the reforms in the defense area, army building initiatives, steps that are being undertaken towards ensuring an increased level of security of Armenia, improvement of military education, development of military-technical cooperation with other countries, as well as answered numerous questions.
Hranush Hakobyan, Minister of Diaspora, briefed the participants of the Ambassadorial meeting on the steps aimed at strengthening relations with Diaspora, activities that are being carried out towards ensuring support to the Armenians who moved to Armenia from Syria, initiatives of the Ministry of Diaspora.
The Participants of the Ambassadorial meeting visited Tsitsernakaberd and paid a respect to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
