Foreign Minister of Armenia had meetings with Vice President and Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran
06 June, 2016On June 6, while on an official visit to Tehran, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Ali Akbar Salehi, Vice President and Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
Welcoming Minister Nalbandian, the Vice President of Iran stressed that it has always been a great pleasure to meet his good friend, Foreign Minister of Armenia, with whom he closely cooperated during the years of heading the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the development of bilateral relations, exchanged thoughts on pressing international issues.
Ali Akbar Salehi presented to Edward Nalbandian the implementation of the deal reached on Iran nuclear program.
On the same day, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.
During the meeting, the ongoing joint efforts aimed at the further deepening of mutually beneficial Armenian-Iranian cooperation, process of implementation of agreements reached on high level were discussed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia presented to the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran the efforts to overcome the consequences of large-scale military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh in early April. The interlocutors shared the view that the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has no alternative.
At the meeting, pressing international and regional issues and efforts being undertaken towards their solution were touched upon.
