Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Switzerland

On February 29, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who pays working visit to Geneva, had a meeting with Didier Burkhalter, Head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
Edward Nalbandian commended the dynamically developing Armenian-Swiss relations and continuous high-level dialogue that brings impetus to them.
In his turn, Didier Burkhalter mentioned that Switzerland attaches importance to the tightening of relations with friendly Armenia.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues on bilateral cooperation. Cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, culture, inter-parliamentary ties, tightening of cooperation within international organizations were touched upon.
Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Switzerland discussed pressing regional and international issues. Hope was expressed that Joint Russian-US Statement on cease-fire in Syria would pave the way to the re-establishment of peace and stability in SAR.
Edward Nalbandian presented to his Swiss counterpart the negotiation process within the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship for exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
At the end of the meeting Edward Nalbandian and Didier Burkhalter signed Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation on the facilitation of the issuance of visas.
