On April 4 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The Ministers approved nearly twenty documents related to different areas of the CIS activities.

During the Ministerial Council issues as holding consultations in different directions between Foreign Ministries of the CIS Member-states and increasing their effectiveness, exchanging information in the area of foreign policy, cooperation in the framework of international organizations were touched upon. The program of consultations between the Foreign Ministries for 2014 was discussed.

The agenda of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS also included discussion of the draft joint statement to be presented on the Council of the Heads of State.

With the goal of improvement of cooperation in the framework of the CIS between defense, emergency situations and law enforcement bodies of interested states the Foreign Ministers agreed on drafts of respective documents.

During the meeting the decision on declaring 2016 as a year of education in the CIS was approved.
