On April 9, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian met with the Syrian president's special envoy, Ambassador Adnan Mahmoud.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Adnan Mahmoud presented the recent developments in Syria and the efforts made to put an end to the armed conflict.

Edward Nalbandian expressed deep concern over the continuous crisis and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria, stressing that it seriously affects the civilian population, including Syrian Armenians as well. He expressed confidence that the only way of settlement is the dialogue between all sectors of society in Syria and expressed hope that in the near future it will be possible to find a way out of this situation and to establish peace and stability in the country.
