The meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran
08 April, 2013 On April 8 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi, who was in Yerevan on a working visit.
Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian highly praised the reliable and friendly Armenian-Iranian relations, which are continuing to flourish thanks to the efforts of both sides.
Ali Akbar Salehi, expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, noted that he was very glad to visit Yerevan in order to attend the inauguration of the President of friendly Armenia, which is also a good opportunity to discuss the process of implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders and to outline new projects.
During the meeting the sides discussed the bilateral relations concerning decentralized cooperation issues in such areas as the political, economic, inter-parliamentary, energy, transport, education, culture, tourism.
Edward Nalbandian and Ali Akbar Salehi also referred to the works of Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission.
Foreign Ministers Nalbandian and Salehi exchanged views on international and regional issues. In this context Minister Salehi presented the latest developments in the negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
