Minister of Foreign Affairs met the Secretary General of BSEC Victor Tvircun

On April 3rd Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Victor Tvircun, the Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian congratulated Viktor Tvircun for being elected as the Secretary General of the BSEC and expressed hope that he will contribute to the increase of the Organization’s efficiency.

Edward Nalbandian noted that Armenia attaches importance to regional integration processes and, guided by this principle, actively participates in the ongoing multi-sectoral cooperation within the BSEC.

Expressing gratitude for the reception and good wishes, Victor Tvircun assured that he will do his best to develop cooperation within the BSEC.

Edward Nalbandian and Victor Tvircun discussed the priorities of Armenia’s presidency in BSEC during the second half of this year. In this regard, Armenia's Foreign Minister said that Armenian presidency will `particularly focus on the economic, information and communication technology, science, tourism, and cooperation in the field of elimination of the consequences of emergency situations.

During the meeting the parties discussed in details the steps taken to deepen the cooperation and promote regional economic cooperation within the framework of the organization.

In particular, reference was made to the process of implementation of the Organization’s new economic agenda which was adopted the previous year, as well as to the increase of BSEC’s efficiency and the compliance of BSEC’s activities with today’s requirements.
