On 29th of March Foreign Minister Nalbandian met Wanda Diebolt, Secretary General of the Francophonie University Agency.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister highlighted the importance of the visit to Armenia, made by the Secretary General of the Francophonie University Agency. The minister noted that last year Armenia’s full membership in the International Organization of La Francophonie was not only an important milestone for the International Francophonie Organization, but also for the development of cooperation with the agencies of the organization.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Wanda Diebolt highly commended the efforts made to strengthen the presence of French in the educational system of Armenia, noting that four higher education institutions of Armenia are University-agency members of La Francophonie.

Both sides noted the importance of the linguistic pact Armenia and the International Organization of Francophonie signed, as well as the Foundation of the Senghor Chair at the French University, Center for Academic Achievement at the Linguistic University after Brusov and the opening of the Francophone Digital Center, which became an additional impetus for the spreading of the French language and Francophone culture.

At the meeting views were exchanged on the expansion of the Francophone University Agency programs.
