The newly appointed Ambassador of India presented the copies of his credentials to the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs

On February 21, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Suresh Babu, the newly appointed Ambassador of India on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia attaches particular importance to the centuries-old traditional friendly Armenian-Indian relations and is interested in the continuing of bilateral interaction.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Babu firstly mentioned that he closely followed the course of the Presidential elections and on behalf his Government congratulated Minister Nalbandian for holding the elections at the highest level. The Ambassador assured that he would bring his important contribution to the further expansion and deepening of existing relations between the two friendly nations.

The sides discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, including issues related to political dialogue, cooperation in international organizations, expansion of legal framework, strengthening of trade and economic relations, and intensification of cultural exchanges.

During the meeting it was noted with satisfaction that Armenia and India have the same or close approaches on various global and regional issues. In this context, the Minister Nalbandian commended India's balanced position over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
