The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs received the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State

On December 14, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Thomas O. Melia, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor at the United States Department of State.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian highly assessed the Armenian-American friendly interaction which has recently been raised to a new level, as well as expressed satisfaction with the support of the USA provided to the implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of
State mentioned that the United States would continue to support the democratic processes in Armenia.

Minister Nalbandian and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Melia touched upon the results of the OSCE Ministerial Summit held in Dublin last week and the cooperation within international organizations.

The sides exchanged views on the reforms under implementation in Armenia, the fight against corruption and efforts aimed at the protection of human rights. The sides touched upon the upcoming presidential elections in Armenia, as well.

Edward Nalbandian presented the guest the recent developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
