The Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Luka Bebic, the Chairman of the Parliament of Croatia
21 March, 2011On March 21, the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the delegation led by Luka Bebic, the Chairman of the Parliament of Croatia.
Welcoming the guests, Edward Nalbandian mentioned that Armenia highly values the relations with Croatia and is interested in deepening of cooperation in various spheres of mutual interests.
The sides noted that after the reciprocal visits of Armenian and Croatian Presidents in 2009, the cooperation between the two countries has considerably become closer. Edward Nalbandian underscored that the upcoming visit of Ivo Josipovic, the Croatian President to Armenia in 2011 will give a new impulse to the development of relations between Armenia and Croatia.
The Armenian Foreign Minister noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the parliamentary diplomacy and Luka Bebic’s visit to Yerevan will give a new impetus to the inter-parliamentary cooperation. The sides underlined that the ties between the Parliaments has not only positive significance for the bilateral relations, but also for the interaction in the parliamentary assemblies of international organizations.
The sides also touched upon the expansion of reciprocal legal-contractual field, as well as the issues related to the trade-economic and cultural cooperation.
Edward Nalbandian and Luka Bebic exchanged views on a number of issues related to the cooperation with the EU, as well as regional and international issues.
Upon the request of the Chairman of the Croatian Parliament, the Armenian Foreign Minister presented the recent developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
