The Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a speech in the OSCE Permanent Council
03 March, 2011On March 3, the Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian who was in Vienna on an official visit, attended the Session of the OSCE Permanent Council, where he had a speech on the agenda issues of the Organization, reforms implementing in Armenia, the relations between Armenia and the EU, as well as the settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue.
Talking about the role of the OSCE, Edward Nalbandian particularly noted that Armenia is ready actively to contribute, in the spirit and consonant with purposes and principles set forth in the Helsinki Final Act, to the efforts to revitalise the Organisation by making it stronger, more reliable, effective and responsive.
Touching upon the reforms implemented in Armenia, Minister Nalbandian said that the Armenian authorities are committed to continue to make consistent steps to promote democratic state-building as referred to by the President of Armenia in his speech of December 18, 2010, when he was speaking of the necessity to develop “a well-developed democracy, a more active political dialogue, and persistent adaptation of the European standards into all areas of our political, social and economic lives.”
In his speech Edward Nalbandian also presented in detail the negotiation process over the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue, coincidence of the positions of Armenia and international community, as well as destructive approaches of Azerbaijan.
After having a speech in the OSCE Permanent Council, the Armenian Foreign Minister left for Bratislava to take part in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Eastern Partnership Program member-countries and Visegrad Four.
