The Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates

On November 3, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met with Madam Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi, the Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian mentioned that Armenia stressed the importance of further development of comprehensive cooperation with the UAE. Edward Nalbandian expressed hope that the regular visits of the Minister of Foreign Trade to Armenia, as well as the Armenian-Emirate representative business conference launched today, will give a new impetus to the development of trade-economic cooperation between the two countries and enlargement of investment field.

The Armenian Foreign Minister said that the opening of the UAE’s diplomatic representation in Yerevan will provide a serious impulse to strengthening of bilateral relations.

Edward Nalbandian underlined that Armenia attaches special importance to the development of interaction in the spheres of high technologies, tourism, real estate, agriculture, regenerated energy, pharmaceutics, education, science and others. Minister Nalbandian added that Armenia also is ready to create necessary conditions for the UAE’s investors.

The Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates Madam Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi expressed gratitude for the reception and support provided by Armenia for the organization of the business conference. Madam Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi also conveyed greetings of the UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Minister Edward Nalbandian.

UAE’s Foreign Trade Minister presented the results of the discussions held in the business conference and underlined that 40 Emirate businessmen attended the conference are interested in the establishment of contacts with Armenian partners that will have a positive impact on the development of trade-economic cooperation between Armenia and the UAE.

In the course of the meeting issues related to the first session of the Armenian-Emirate inter-governmental commission were discussed.
