24 May, 2010On May 24, the informal meeting of the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries’ Foreign Ministers took place in the Polish city of Sopot, which was attended by the Armenian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Karine Kazinian.
\nThe meeting was dedicated to the summarizing the works done up till now within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, the expectations of participating countries, as well as the elaboration of future programmes.
Deputy Foreign Minister Karine Kazinian delivered a speech at the meeting, in which she presented the importance of the Armenia-EU Association Agreement, creation of free trade areas, as well as gradual liberalization of the visa regime for the participating countries. The Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that the significant results would have positive impact on the different groups of society.
\nWithin the framework of the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia also met with Henryk Litwin, Under-Secretary of State of the Polish Foreign Ministry. In the course of the meeting, they discussed issues concerning the Armenian-Polish bilateral cooperation. The two touched upon the scheduled visit of the Foreign Minister of Poland Radosław Sikorski to Armenia, as well as they agreed to speed up the activities of establishing the Armenian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission.
\nThe Deputy Foreign Minister also had a short working conversation with Štefan Fule., the EU's Commissioner for Enlargement and ENP.
