Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Arman Kirakossian on a question of «Armenpress» News Agency

20 March, 2010

Question: Mr. Kirakossian, Turkish Prime Minister stated that he had threatened to expel the Armenians from Turkey supposedly for attracting the international community’s  attention on the illegal Armenian migrants existence in Turkey. How would you comment that statement?
Answer: By  speaking about the would be Armenians in hard economic conditions who went to Turkey , Mr. Erdogan forgets about the presence of millions of Turkish migrants who left for different countries  around the world in order to make their living.

I feel sorry that the authorities of the modern Republic of Turkey, by talking about forced deportations of Armenians on the eve of the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide committed in the Ottoman Empire, are continuing to be guided by the values of the Ottoman Empire and not that of Europe.
