Ambassador of Japan presents the copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian
03 November, 2009On November 2, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received Masaharu Kohno, the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Armenia (residence in Moscow) on the occasion of presenting of copies of his credentials.
Congratulating the Ambassador on the appointment, Minister Nalbandian mentioned that Armenia attaches importance to the development of comprehensive relations with Japan and expressed hope that the new Ambassador will make his significant contribution in the enhancement of relations established between the two countries and the promotion of bilateral cooperation in different areas.
Ambassador Kohno thanked for the wishes and mentioned that he will do his best for the further development of bilateral relations.
In the course of the meeting the two touched upon the intensification of political dialogue, the promotion of economic and cultural cooperation and the possibilities of implementation of joint investment projects.
Minister Nalbandian thanked for the support provided to the development of Armenia’s economy by Japan since the independence.
The two exchanged views on Armenian-Turkish relations.
On the guest’s request, Minister Nalbandian presented the recent developments in the negotiations for the settlement of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) issue.
