Ambassador Karen Nazaryan, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN presents his credentials to Ban Ki Moon, the UNs Secretary General
10 September, 2009On September 10, Ambassador Karen Nazaryan, Armenia’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations presented his credentials to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon
During the talks that followed the ceremony, the parties touched upon Armenia’s involvement in the UN and its priorities, as well as cooperation between the Government of Armenian and the UN Office in Armenia.
Ambassador Nazaryan expressed satisfaction for the process of programs implemented in Armenia by the UN different agencies and funds and attached importance to the participation of Armenian state agencies and non-governmental organizations in the development of the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for 2010-2015.
In his turn the UN’s Secretary General mentioned that the UN Office in Yerevan will be guided by the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Armenia’s priorities.
The two touched upon the negotiations on Artsakh issue settlement and the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
