On July 23, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received Consuelo Vidal, the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia.

In the course of the meeting issues related to the activities of the UN office in Armenia were discussed.

Minister Nalbandian expressed satisfaction with the projects implemented by the UN and its agencies in Armenia. The Minister attached importance to the development and adoption of joint program for 2010-2015 and emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affaires will support the implementation of this project.

Mrs. Vidal expressed gratitude to Minister Nalbandian for the support of the Armenian Governmental institutions provided to UN Office, which has been highly appreciated at the UN Headquarters.

The parties touched upon the provisions of the “2010-2015 United Nations Framework for Development Assistance”. Consuelo Vidal emphasized the importance of the coordination of the Foreign Ministry in the development of the document, as well as the participation of all interested Agencies and NGOs. She also stressed that the UN’s Yerevan office activities will be guided that program in favour of the Millennium development goals and the issues Armenia is facing.
