Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian meets with GՓran Lennmarker, the OSCE Parliamentary Assemblys Special Representative
09 February, 2009On February 9, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received Göran Lennmarker, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Special Representative on Nagorno Karabakh who is in Armenia for a two-day visit.
On Göran Lennmarker’s request, Minister Nalbandian presented recent developments in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) peace process, the results of the meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in ZurichIn that context the two stressed that the Moscow Declaration on November 2, 2008, as well as the Joint Declaration of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries and the statement of the OSCE Foreign Ministers Council on Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) peace process create a solid basis for progress in negotiations.
In his turn Göran Lennmarker underlined that the negotiation process within the framework of Minsk Group can bring to the resolution of the issue and expressed confidence that peace settlement of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) conflict has no alternative.
Edward Nalbandian and Göran Lennmarker exchanged views on EU “Eastern Partnership” initiative.
