Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian meets with Albanian leadership
23 October, 2008On October 22, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, who is in Tirana to participate in BSEC Ministerial Council, met with his Albanian counterpart Lulzim Basha.
Edward Nalbandian and Lulzim Basha expressed regret that bilateral relations between Armenia and Albania which have great potential of development, are on zero level at present and agreed to take steps aimed at development of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and cultural areas and formation of legal base between the two countries.
In the course of the meeting the two also touched upon international and regional issues, perspectives of cooperation between the two countries within the frameworks of international organizations.
Edward Nalbandian invited his counterpart to visit Armenia. An agreement has been reached on soon visit of Albanian Foreign Ministry delegation to Armenia for preparation of several bilateral agreements.
Later Albanian Deputy Prime-Minister Genc Polo host a dinner in honour of Edward Nalbandian.
On October 23, Foreign Minister of Armenia had a meeting with Sali Berisha, Prime-Minister of Albania. During the meeting the two had a detailed discussion on t cooperation in political, economic, cultural areas and concrete steps to be made in that direction.
