On 18 of June Minister Nalbandian who was in Brussels on a working visit had meetings with the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana.

The two discussed the cooperation of EU and Armenia in the area of foreign policy, the implementation of the European Neighbourhood Policy Action Plan, the post-electoral developments in Armenia and issues concerning the regional security and stability.

Armenian Foreign Minister reiterated the determination of the Armenian authorities to continue the reforms directed to the strengthening and developing of democracy in the country.

Minister Nalbandian and the Secretary General Solana gave their positive assessment to the of Armenia’s  almost one year long alignment with EU common foreign and security policy statements and different formats of political dialogue between Armenia and EU.

The head of Armenian diplomacy informed the EU chief diplomat on the present stage of Nagorno Karabakh peace process, as well as the results of the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in St Petersburg.

The two also touched upon issues as regional security and stability.

On the same day Minister Nalbandian had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Belgium Karel De Gucht.

During the discussion the two gave their positive assessment to the dynamic progress of cooperation between two countries.
