Minister Nalbandian met the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.

 On May 30 in Moscow the Minister Edward Nalbandian met his Russian colleague Sergey Lavrov.
 
The two had a private discussion after which they continued the meeting with in presence of the delegations.

 At the meeting the two discussed questions concerning the deepening and strengthening of Armenian-Russian bilateral relations.

The two highly appreciated allied relations of our countries. The dynamic growth of cooperation in political dialogue, economic, cultural and some other areas was noted. Minister Nalbandian mentioned that Armenia will strengthen its special strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, building upon the traditional friendly ties between our nations.

They touched upon the cooperation of Armenia and Russia on international scene, cooperation in the framework of Commonwealth of Independent states and Collaboration in the framework of Collective Security Treaty Organization, as well as steps directed to the coordination of the positions in international organizations.

The two discussed also Nagorno Karabakh peace process. Minister Nalbandian reiterated Armenia’s position to in solve the problem through negotiations and his readiness to continue the negotiation process based on the suggestions presented by the Minsk Group Co presidents.
 
They touched also upon the security and stability issues of the Southern Caucasus region.
 
The meeting was followed by a press conference, during which the ministers presented to the journalists the subjects of discussion and answered to the questions of the journalists.

Afterwards the Foreign Minister of Russia host an official dinner in honor of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Tomorrow, on 31 of May, Minister Nalbandian will continue the meetings in Moscow.
