Christian Poncelet, President of the French Senate, received Minister Nalbandian
12 May, 2008On May 9, 2008, Christian Poncelet, President of the French Senate, received Minister Nalbandian, who was in Paris on an official visit. The President congratulated the Minister on the occasion of his appoinment, evaluating highly his activity as Armenia’s Ambassador to France.
Minister Nalbandian said that it was an honor to him to have represented Armenia in France, which has been supporting Armenia since the very first years of its independence, and with which there exists a close cooperation both on European and international levels. The Minister thanked President Poncelet for his initiatives and willingness to deepen interparliamentary, as well as decentralized cooperation, and to contribute to stability and cooperation in the South Caucusus.
During the meeting, Minister Nalbandian presented the President of the Senate on the key directions of the coalition government formed in the result of the presidential elections in Armenia, as well as Armenia’s authorities viewpoints on a number of regional and international issues.
Later the same day, Mgr. Fortunato Baldelli, apostolic nuncio to France and dean of the diplomatic corps, gave a farewell party in Minister Nalbandian’s honor.
Minister Nalbandian also met with Patrick Vajsman, founder and director of the Politique Internationale journal.
