The Armenian Foreign Minister Continues to Receive Letters of Congratulations
12 May, 2008Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received a letter of congratulation from USA State Secretary Condoleezza Rice. Secretary Rice writes in her letter,” Congratulations on your appointment as Foreign Minister of Armenia. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to strengthen the friendship between our countries. We have much work ahead to finalize the basic principles of a Nagorno- Karabakh settlement and help Armenia normalize its diplomatic and economic relations with its neighbors. We hope in particular to see decisive steps in Armenia to rejuvenate democratic reform and restore civil liberties, which are the shared values at the core of our countries’ relationship.”
The Armenian Foreign Minister received congratulations also from Austrian Federal Minister for European and International affairs Ursula Plassnik, Slovak Foreign Minister Ján Kubiš, Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy- Rey, Chilean Foreign Minister Alejandro Foxley, Hungarian Foreign Minister Kinga Göncz, Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung- hwan, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Leonidas Chrysanthopoulos.
Minister Edward Nalbandian received congratulations from Amre Moussa, Secretary General of League of Arab States. The leader of the Pan-Arabic organization writes in his letter:
”I am sure that your political experience and personal abilities will enable you to shoulder the responsibilities of which you have been entrusted at the helm of the Armenian diplomacy. I seize this opportunity to reiterate that we attach to strengthening Arab- Armenian relations.
