Minister Oskanians Meetings in Strasbourg
08 December, 2007Minister Oskanian paid a working visit to Strasbourg on December 7.
He met with members of Council of Europe Monitoring Group for Armenia (known as the Ago Group.)
The Minister expressed appreciation for the meeting and presented Armenia’s domestic political and economic situation, including the upcoming presidential elections. They discussed issues concerning the latest developments in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process. Minister Oskanian answered questions posed by the ambassador-members of the Monitoring Group, headed by the Ambassador of Sweden, Per Sjögren.
In Strasbourg, Minister Oskanian also met with Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe. They explored issues concerning the assessment of the condition of the cultural monuments in Nakhijevan and the latest developments in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process, as well as the upcoming presidential elections in Armenia.

Armenia’s Foreign Minister also met with Marc Scheuer, Director of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights. They discussed an upcoming visit to Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding territories. They also talked about the latest developments in the Karabakh settlement process.
The Minister also met with Jean-Paul Costa, President of the European Court of Human Rights.
