Plovdivs Community Council Recognizes the Armenian Genocide
24 October, 2007On October 4, 2007, Plovdiv’s Community Council unanimously adopted a resolution that acknowledged the Genocide carried out against Armenians from 1915 to 1923.
The Armenian Genocide issue was introduced into the agenda by the Council’s Commission on Youth, International Relations and Euro integration.
Community Council in its decision appealed the National Assembly of Bulgaria to recognize
the Genocide carried out against Armenians from 1915 to 1923 by the Ottoman Empire.
