Minister Oskanian Receives a Delegation from the Italian Chamber of Deputies
24 September, 2007On September 19, 2007, Minister Oskanian received a delegation headed by Umberto Ranieri, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Parliament Chamber of Deputies.
Welcoming the guest, Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Italy. The Minister also reaffirmed the importance of more substantial relations within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy and thanked Italy for their partnership within Armenia’s Rural Development Program.
Upon the request of the guests, Minister Oskanian introduced Armenia’s foreign policy priorities, discussed relations with neighbors, outlined the latest developments in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process, presented Armenia’s position concerning Armenia-Turkey relations and Armenia’s approaches regarding Turkey’s integration within the European Union.
Mr. Ranieri spoke about his impressions of Armenia and discussed the purpose of their visit – to support development and eurointegration processes.
Umberto Ranieri was accompanied by members of Foreign Affairs Committee Margherita Boniver, Raffaello De Brasi, Giorgio La Malfa and Leo Luca Orlando, as well as Mario Di Napoli, Committee Secretary.
