On September 6, 2007, Foreign Minister Oskanian received a high-level delegation representing the French Socialist party headed by François Hollande.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Oskanian expressed appreciation at the warm level of  Armenian-French relations.  François Hollande also praised Armenia-France relations and emphasized the role of the Armenian Diaspora in France.

    

Upon the request of the guests, Minister Oskanian spoke about the development of democratic processes in Armenia, he assessed the latest developments in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process. He also spoke about Armenia’s foreign policy priorities.

Mr. Hollande talked about French domestic politics. He also spoke about the strategy of the Socialist Party regarding penalization of denial of the Armenian Genocide.

Mr. Hollande was accompanied by Rene Rouquet and Bruno le Roux, members of France’s National Assembly.
