Response of the MFA Spokesperson Ani Badalyan to the inquiry from "Factor TV"
04 April, 2025Question: The official Baku demands minefield maps from Yerevan. Does the official Yerevan have any comment?
Answer: Emphasizing the importance of addressing humanitarian issues, on June 12, July 3, October 19, November 1 and November 29, 2021 Armenia unilaterally provided Azerbaijan with 972 registries of minefields without preconditions. Moreover, remaining committed to the principles of cooperation on humanitarian issues, Armenia compiled through inquiries and transferred new minefield registries to Azerbaijan in early 2024.
Azerbaijan continuously questions the accuracy of these maps, despite our repeated statements that there are no "better or more accurate" maps. Armenia, both previously and now, is ready to verify the accuracy of these maps with the involvement of international experts.
We would like to add that the International Court of Justice unequivocally rejected the request to apply a provisional measure against Armenia, in which Azerbaijan had accused Armenia of mining activities.
