Interviews of the Foreign Minister of Armenia during the visit to Uruguay
23 March, 2024On March 23, within the framework of his official visit to Uruguay, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan gave interviews to representatives of leading local media outlets.
The Foreign Minister touched upon bilateral relations between the two countries, the historical ties, mutual efforts to further enrich the bilateral agenda and intentions to provide a new impetus to the partnership between the two friendly nations through the opening of a resident embassy in Montevideo during the visit, as well as an earlier opening of resident Embassy of Uruguay in Yerevan.
The Foreign Minister touched upon other aspects of foreign policy, the security situation in the South Caucasus, the existing challenges and the efforts undertaken to address them. Minister Mirzoyan presented key issues in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and emphasized the position of Armenia on those matters. As part of the peace agenda, Ararat Mirzoyan also spoke about the details of the “Crossroads of Peace” project, developed by the government of Armenia.
The head of the foreign ministry also answered other questions of interest to journalists, touching upon the steps undertaken to address the needs of the Armenian population forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan.
