Zohrab Mnatsakanyan's meeting with Martine Vassal, President of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council

On May 29, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the delegation headed by Martine Vassal, the President of Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council. Patrick Boré, the First Vice President of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council, and Didier Parakian, the Deputy Mayor of Marseille, were also in the delegation.

The sides highlighted the importance of the visit of this delegation, which includes 40 representatives from different spheres, to Armenia and different meetings being within the framework of the visit as a good opportunity to discuss the perspectives of cooperation related to different areas of the Armenian-French bilateral agenda.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the visit of this representative delegation reflects the multifaceted nature of the Armenian-French relations, which has always been marked by deep collaboration and traditionally close ties between the peoples of the two countries.

Touching upon a number of issues on the Armenian-French agenda, the interlocutors outlined the advancement of business contacts, the launch of joint projects in the spheres of information technologies, startups, innovation and creative education as important direction of cooperation.

The sides highlighted the important role of the Armenian community in the social and political life of France, which is also a solid bridge between the two friendly countries.

The interlocutors particularly underscored the expansion and development of decentralized cooperation as a step aimed at enriching the bilateral agenda.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed the guests on the latest domestic political developments in Armenia and the process of reforms being implemented by the Government within that context highlighting the consistent collaboration with international partners.

Upon the request of his interlocutor, Minister Mnatsakanyan briefly touched upon the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, emphasizing Armenia’s approaches  and principled position.
