Bilateral Relations

General information

Romania recognized the independence of the Republic of Armenia on 11 December, 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 17 December, 1991.

Embassy of the Republic of Armenia was opened in Bucharest on 24 April, 1994.
The Romanian Embassy in Yerevan was opened on 9 February, 1999.

On 17 November 2017, Sergey Minasyan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Romania.

In 2013, 4^th Armenian-Romanian Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in the Fields of Trade, Economy, Sciense and Technology took place in Yerevan.

From July 4, 2019 Cornel Ionescu is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Armenia.
