General information

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Paraguay were established on July 2, 1992.

Since 2005, the Embassy of the Republic of Paraguay in the Russian Federation has been jointly accredited to the Republic of Armenia.

Since 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Argentine Republic has been jointly accredited to the Republic of Paraguay.

On May 12, 2024, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, signed a decree appointing Mariam Gevorgyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, concurrently as the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Paraguay (with residence in Montevideo).

The Senate of Paraguay recognized the Armenian Genocide on October 29, 2015.
