There is no alternative to the peaceful settlement, which is done through negotiations with the mediation of three important countries - France, Russia and the United States, the so-called OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship - and which needs to be based on a balanced, measurable compromise on which the solution will be based. And this has been a very consistent position of Armenia.

On July 30, in Vienna, at the initiative of the delegation of Armenia,  the issue of "Turkey's aggressive policy and military posturing as a destabilizing factor in the South Caucasus" was included in the agenda of the OSCE Permanent Council session.

 Arms trade to Azerbaijan is fatal, because Azerbaijan never hesitates to use those weapons against civilian infrastructure, the civilian population.

And we have also been working very hard with our partners with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship, comprising France, the United States and Russia, in order to halt the hostilities and in order to restore the ceasefire.

This was a very dangerous development of the past days since 12th of July, when there was an attempt of infiltration by the Azerbaijani forces to the Armenian territory, to the north-east of Armenia and the use of large calibre artillery has amplified the dangers of escalation which we have now.
