Eligibility for a TEMPORARY RESIDENT CARD
Temporary Resident Card is issued to foreign citizens who:
- study in Armenia,
- have a work permit in Armenia,
- is the wife/husband, parent, or child of a foreign citizen who is a holder of a Temporary Resident Card of Armenia,
- is wife/husband, parent, child, or relative (brother, sister, grandparent, grandchildren) of an Armenian citizen or of a foreign citizen holding a Special Passport of Armenia,
- runs business activity in Armenia,
- is an Armenian national,
- in other cases prescribed by law.
A Temporary Resident Card is issued with a one-year validity period with the possibility of a one-year extension.
The applicant must apply for the extension at least 30 days before the Temporary Resident Card expires.
Eligibility for a PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD
Permanent Resident Card is issued to a foreign citizen when:
- the applicant is the wife/husband or relative (brother, sister, grandparent, grandchildren) of an Armenian citizen or of a foreign citizen holding a Special Passport of Armenia, has adequate means of accommodation or property in Armenia, and has also legally lived in Armenia for 3 years before applying for a Permanent Resident Card,
- runs business activity in Armenia,
- is an Armenian national.
A Permanent Resident Card is issued with a five-year validity period. It can be extended by five more years.
To extend the Permanent Resident Card, the applicant must apply at least 30 days before the Permanent Resident Card expires.
Required documents
1) application,
2) 3 color photos - 35 x 45 mm,
3) passport, copy of the passport, the notarized Armenian translation of the passport,
4) documents supporting the conditions of applying for the residence permit (extension of the permit) in Armenia,
5) medical certificate,
6) receipt of payment of the fee.

The basis of the presented fees is the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the State Duties" (Article 8, 14)

The basis of the presented fees is the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the State Duties" (Article 14.3) and the Government decree № 300-N from 29 March, 2019.
How to pay
You can pay the fee for the resident card by the E-payments state electronic system, in a bank or on spot with the payment terminals.
