General information

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and Turkmenistan were established on October 9, 1992.

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Ashgabat was opened in 1994.

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Yerevan was opened in 2000.

In 2018 Mukhametgeldy Ayazov has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia.

In 2021 Ruben Kharazyan has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Turkmenistan.

On September 13, 2022, political consultations at the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Turkmenistan took place in Ashgabat.

Legal framework

To date, more than 80 documents have been signed between Armenia and Turkmenistan.

Trade and economic relations

In March 2017, the 8th meeting of the Armenian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Yerevan.

On September 13, 2022, the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Armenia and Turkmenistan took place in Ashgabat.
