General information

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and Republic of Costa Rica were established on April 8, 1997.

On 10 September, 2014 Grigor Hovhannisyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to United States of Mexico was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Costa Rica. On 19 September, 2014 the newly appointed Ambassador presented his credentials to the President Luis Guillermo Solis.

On January 12, 2016, by decree of the President of the RA Grigor Hovhannisyan was released from his duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Costa Rica.

On January 18, 2017, by decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United Mexican States Ara Ayvazyan was concurrently appointed as Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Costa Rica.
