General information

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Plurinational State of Bolivia were established on July 27, 1992.

On January 19, 2022, Jose Marcelo Ortuste Gonzales was appointed Honorary Consul of Armenia in Bolivia.

On May 12, 2024, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, signed a decree appointing Mariam Gevorgyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, concurrently as the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Plurinational State of Bolivia (with residence in Montevideo).

The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Bolivia recognized the Armenian Genocide in 2014.
