General information

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Belgium were established on 10 March 1992.

On September 26, 2023 Eric de Muynck, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

On September 4, 2023, Tigran Balayan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Belgium.

In October 2008 Grigor Badiryan was appointed Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in Armenia.

Legal Framework

  • Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Belgium on the Establishment of Diplomatic and Consular relations. Signed on March 10, 1992.
  • Convention between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Belgium for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital. Signed on June 7, 2001.
  • Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Belgio-Luxemburg Economic Union on the reciprocal promotion and protection of investments. Signed on June 7, 2001.
  • Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium on Air Transport. Signed on June 7, 2001.
  • Protocolbetween the Republic of Armenia and the States of the Benelux implementing the Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union on the readmission of persons residing without authorization. Signed on June 20, 2018.
  • Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Belgium on the gainful occupation of family members of the personnel of the Diplomatic Missions and Consular Posts. Signed on December 4, 2018.
