Only political and economic factors are not sufficient on the road of building lasting peace between peoples and states. In this regard the cultural factor is of not less importance. During the passing period UNESCO made considerable efforts aimed at the preservation of cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, cultural heritage and strengthening of inter-civilization solidarity.

The UN Human Rights Council adopted Armenia-initiated Resolution on the Prevention of Genocide by consensus27 March, 2015
On March 27, 2015, Genocide Prevention Resolution initiated by Armenia was adopted at the 28th session of the UN Human Rights Council by consensus. 64 states introducing all the regional groups of the Human Rights Council joined Armenia and co-authored the resolution. The resolution will be open for the co-authoring for two more weeks.
