The first Genocide of the 20th century, the centennial of which will be commemorated next year, was perpetrated in the Ottoman Empire against the Armenian nation, under the cover of the First World War. It stands as a witness to what extent humanity can degrade in the absence of international system of protection of human rights and security.

On February 19 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the UK All Party Parliamentary Armenia Group headed by the Chairman of the group John Whittingdale. The delegation also included other Members of the House of Commons- Stephen Pound, Mike Gapes, Harriett Baldwin, as well as Members of the House of Lords- Lord Faulkner and Baroness Hooper.
