Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Hungary

On December 4, on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council, Foreign Minister of  Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary.

The ministers discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, noting the positive dynamics recorded recently. In this context, both sides expressed satisfaction with the opening of embassies in the capitals of the two countries.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Péter Szijjártó emphasized the importance of continued work toward implementing the agreements aimed at expanding both bilateral cooperation and the Armenia–EU partnership. In this regard, the mutual readiness to advance concrete programs through the existing EU instruments was underlined.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Hungary also touched upon humanitarian issues, including the program implemented in Hungary for refugee children and their accompanying family members.

The interlocutors touched upon  the cooperation within multilateral formats.

During the meeting, thoughts were also exchanged about International developments. In the regional context, Minister Mirzoyan stressed the importance of the agreements reached in Washington, DC, in August. The efforts aimed at further consolidation of peace were also touched upon.
