Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Turkmenistan


On November 11, political consultations on the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers were held between the MFAs of Armenia and Turkmenistan.

From the Armenian side Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and respectively Vepa Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan headed the consultations.

During the consultations, the sides discussed prospects and new opportunities of bilateral ties. In this context, the FMs attached significance to holding of such events on a regular basis, which is an efficient platform for discussion of the process of agreements made by the Heads of two states and steps undertaken towards their implementation. Importance was attached to further paying of mutual visits on the high level to deepen and develop Armenian-Turkmen relations.

Wide range of issues was on the agenda of the talks, including further activation of political cooperation, fulfillment of the potential of bilateral economic component, exploration of mutually beneficial cooperation within international organizations, deepening of humanitarian and cultural ties, as well as further expansion of legal framework.

During the consultations, exchange of thoughts on regional and international issues took place.
